Please join us on Wednesday, January 30th, at 8:00 - 9:30 am, at the Homewood Suites, 111 Boylston Street, Brookline, in their Conference Room (left of the lobby), to learn about the possibility of implementing a Parking Benefits District in Brookline Village and share your thoughts. Attendance, garage parking, and coffee & bagels
This meeting will help to inform a decision to present a Warrant Article to Town Meeting to make Brookline Village a Parking Benefits District.
A Parking Benefits District in Brookline Village would fund streetscape improvements and economic development projects, chosen by the Brookline Village community, through a modest increase in parking meter rates. This increase would also encourage higher parking turnover, freeing up spaces for customers and patrons of Brookline Village businesses.
Chris Dempsey, Brookline Transportation Board President, will be presenting.
For information about Parking Benefits Districts:
1) "Turning Small Change Into Big Changes" This includes a discussion of the benefits in Pasadena.
2) MAPC Fact Sheet on Parking Benefits Districts in Massachusetts
3) A Q&A document from Arlington Town Meeting on their Parking Benefits District
We hope to see you there!
